Within the corpus aristotelicum there is no particular work that systematizedly exposes a theory of knowledge. This does not mean, however, that there is no epistemology in Aristotle. Well, as we have to show in this essay, it is possible to reconstruct it through thorough research into a good part of his work. Anyone who considers himself, therefore, the challenge of such reconstruction, must trace certain passages located in different parts of the works that the philosopher has bequeathed to us. This short essay aims to address only in principle the decisive role of sensory perception in the acquisition of knowledge and in the progressive cultivation of the arts and sciences.
