Resumen




Este estudio investigó el conocimiento, aplicabilidad y barreras relacionadas con el documento de voluntades anticipadas (DVA) en profesionales de la salud del Hospital Universitario San Ignacio, Bogotá, Colombia, aplicando encuestas cuantitativas que posteriormente serán seguidas de entrevistas semi estructuradas para evaluar la comprensión y experiencias de médicos respecto al DVA. Los resultados mostraron que el 79.2% de los participantes reconocen la importancia de planificar deseos médicos, y el 92.5% sabe que los médicos deben respetar el DVA por ley. Sin embargo, solo el 75% lo recomendaría y solo el 67.9% conoce la obligación moral de transferir el caso a otro profesional si no quieren seguir la voluntad del paciente. Se identificó una brecha en el conocimiento del proceso y barreras como la falta de tiempo y entrenamiento en comunicación. Los hallazgos subrayan la necesidad de mejorar la capacitación y recursos para incorporar el DVA en la práctica clínica.
