Submissions
The original texts are sent through the platform Open Journal Systems (OJS) at the following address: https://revistas.anahuac.mx/bioetica/To such purpose, authors should register and send their contributions attaching a signed Letter of Authorship and an Authorization for the Public Disclosure of Literary Work in pdf format.
The author shall commit to sign a letter authorizing the magazine to reproduce the manuscript either in print or electronic format, including internet, through any means of communication and/or dissemination, known or unknown.

2. Authorization for the Public Disclosure of Literary Work (article)
Medicina y Ética does not charge any fees to the authors for the submission, processing and/or publication of articles.
Author Submission Checklist:
The journal will have two sections: first, Articles, and second, Reviews.
- Ensure that the submission has not been previously published or is under review by another journal (or provide an explanation in the Editor's Comments if applicable).
- Keep the text with single spacing, in 12-point Arial font, and 1.5-line spacing.
- The file must be in Microsoft Word format and sent directly through the journal's Open Journal Systems platform.
- All authors mentioned in the article must have made a significant contribution, including students and technicians.
Whenever possible, include DOIs for references.
Place all illustrations, figures, and tables in their corresponding locations within the text instead of at the end.
Medicina y Ética provides open access to its content with the principle that research should be freely available to the public, supporting global knowledge exchange. Therefore, there is no charge to authors for submission, processing, and/or publication of articles.
Articles:
Articles must meet the following requirements:
- Original material. This submission has not been previously published and is not under evaluation by any other journal.
- Title in Spanish and English.
- Minimum length of fifteen pages and a maximum of thirty. They should be monographic only.
- Author information. Name of each author with an asterisk, indicating their place of employment, city, country, and position briefly, as well as their email and ORCID code.
- Tables and figures with adequate quality and their corresponding notes.

The Editorial Coordination reserves the right to omit excessive titles.

The first author's name should correspond to the person who has been most involved in the preparation of the article, not based on academic or clinical positions.
In case of a conflict of interest, authors must indicate it in the publication.
- Abstract in Spanish:
The abstract should have a length of one hundred and fifty words and offer a clear overview of the research purpose, the fundamental methods used (including sample selection and analytical and observational approaches), key findings (specific data and, if possible, their statistical relevance), as well as relevant conclusions and the uniqueness of the research. The structure of the abstract will vary depending on the type of article but generally should contain sections like Introduction, Objectives, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusions. - Abstract in English:
The English abstract will have a maximum length of 150 words, including spaces, and will reflect the same characteristics and content as the abstract in Spanish. It will start with an English version of the title of the work, and three to five keywords will be included. It is recommended to have this paragraph reviewed by an experienced translator to ensure its quality. - Keywords:
Three to five keywords not contained in the title, with their Spanish and English versions (key words). - Introduction:
In its content, it is expected to address relevant background, expose the context of the problem to be investigated, and establish the study's objectives. This exposition should be carried out smoothly and coherently, adequately supported by relevant bibliographic information. - Materials and Methods:
It is essential in this section to explicitly describe the specifics of the sample and the methods used. This exposition should allow other researchers to carry out similar studies with ease. Authors must provide a detailed record of the ethical procedures followed, especially in experiments involving animals, patients, or handling confidential data. Additionally, it is imperative to ensure that informed consent has been obtained and that approval from the institution's ethics committee has been obtained. This approval letter should be attached in the files to be submitted in Open Journal Systems or in the Materials and Methods section as an appendix or official document. - Results:
In this section, the fundamental discoveries of the study will be presented, supplemented by essential graphics or figures that enrich the information provided in the text. It emphasizes the importance of avoiding redundancies between the written content and the tables or figures. - Tables and Figures:
Tables should be numbered consecutively in the order they are mentioned in the text. Table titles will be placed at the top of the tables, and an explanation of abbreviations will be provided, as well as explanatory notes at the bottom if applicable. They should have the corresponding reference; if created by the author, they should bear the corresponding legend. (Own elaboration)
Regarding the quality of the figures, it is important that graphs, plots, and drawings are created using high-resolution programs such as JPG, TIFF, EPS, PowerPoint, and Illustrator. All iconography must be original, and if external material is used, the source must be cited, and prior permission from the corresponding publisher must be obtained. Figures should not duplicate information already present in the text. - Discussion:
This stage involves comparing the results obtained with the findings documented in the scientific literature and with the objectives and hypotheses outlined in the work. - Conclusions:
In this section, the primary conclusions of the study will be summarized concisely. If they are preliminary conclusions, suggestions for necessary future research can be made. It is essential that the conclusions are consistent with the established objectives and directly derive from the research process conducted.
If your article is quantitative and your study involves people or animals, it is necessary to provide, in addition to all the data requested in the editorial policies and standards, the folio number or proof that your work was approved by a Research Ethics Committee. Without this document, we CANNOT proceed with the editorial process.
If your article is descriptive/documentary in nature, it is not necessary to include the complete aforementioned structure; however, an introduction, development, conclusions, and references are requested. If you do not have this approval, you can contact the Research Ethics Committee of the Anáhuac Mexico University, who will provide you with the corresponding follow-up. Reviews
The reviewed works must be current, not older than five years, and address topics related to Bioethics. They may pertain to books, articles in indexed scientific journals, or chapters in prestigious publishers (check SPI: https://spi.csic.es/).
It should include the title of the work being reviewed along with its bibliographic reference. Additionally, the name, position, email address, and ORCID code of the review author.
The review is an academic, respectful critique and should highlight the limitations and contributions of the work in question.

Bibliography
It should follow the Vancouver format and be up-to-date (not older than five years). There should be consistency between the citations in the text and the bibliography.

In-Text Citations
In-text citations are made using Arabic numerals in parentheses.
Each work cited in the text should have a unique number assigned in the order of citation. If a work is cited more than once, it retains the same number.
Citations from one author can be done by number or by integrating the author's name followed by a number in the text.
When the author is mentioned in the text, the reference number is placed after their name. If the author is not named, the number will appear at the end of the sentence.

To cite a work with no known author, a "corporate author" is used, such as an organization or entity.

Some books contain chapters written by different Authors. When citing the chapter, the author of the chapter should be cited, not the literary editor or director of the work.

When there are multiple citations, they should be separated by commas, but if they are consecutive, the first and last are mentioned with a hyphen.
Modern scientific nomenclature really began with Linnaeus in botany (1), but other disciplines (2,5) were not far behind in developing various systems (4-7) for nomenclature and symbolization.
Direct quotation: It should be brief, less than five lines, inserted within the text in quotation marks, and the corresponding number should be placed at the end, after the quotation marks and before the punctuation mark, including the page number.
