The discrete multicriteria decision methods. A rational point of view applied to decision making
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper implements multi-criteria decisión methods (MCDM) into real problems. In order to do so, the details of the basics of multi-criteria decision and the different methods and their application in energy planning will be stated.
The multi-criteria decision, in its multiple meanings, is a multidisciplinary set of tolos with great potential, highly used for the analysis of complex problems. These methods have been developed from different fields of research and different mathematical bases, making it difficult to start in this field.
The application of MCDM in energy planning is remarkable and can be extrapolated to other fields that have evolved from using simple methods such as cost-benefit have been required for their analysis to require tools able to collect a multi-criteria reality. In energy planning, it has been necessary to encompass environmental, social and technical aspects especially after the arrival of mainly renewable new source of energy increasing the relevance of GHG emissions and dependence generated to the countries of which the primary energy is imported.
