Conflicto entre la vida familiar y la vida laboral: síndrome de agotamiento parental, un nuevo modelo

Resumen

La pandemia de COVID-19 alteró el entorno laboral, la educación y la dinámica familiar. A pesar de estas alteraciones, son escasos los estudios que han analizado el síndrome de agotamiento parental en el contexto de las organizaciones. Este artículo se vale de la teoría de los sistemas bioecológicos del desarrollo humano para ampliar la comprensión del síndrome de agotamiento parental y determinar sus factores contribuyentes. A diferencia del agotamiento laboral, el agotamiento parental debe reconocerse como un síndrome diferenciado para el que hace falta un enfoque multifacético. El estudio contribuye a la literatura sobre la cuestión con un análisis bibliométrico. Propone la teoría de los sistemas bioecológicos de Bronfenbrenner como base para formular un modelo sistémico del síndrome de agotamiento parental y sus efectos en la conciliación entre la vida laboral y personal. Además, la desigualdad estructural de género no se ha tenido debidamente en cuenta ni se ha abordado el fenómeno desde una perspectiva sistémica.

  • Myleen Leary, Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship

    Dr. Myleen Leary is an Associate Professor of Management in the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Montana State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Modern Languages from Providence College, a master’s degree in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a PhD in Organizational Theory and Strategy from the University of Wisconsin. Her research has been published in leading outlets such as Strategic Management Journal, Group & Organization Management, Gender Work & Organizations, and International Entrepreneurship. She has served on the boards of directors of multiple non-profit organizations, contributing governance experience.

  • Yvette Mucharraz y Cano, IPADE Business School

    Dr. Yvette Mucharraz y Cano is a Professor in the Human Resources Management Department and Head of IPADE’s Centro de Investigación de la Mujer en la Alta Dirección (Research Center on Women in Senior Management—CIMAD). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), as well as a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a PhD in Social Science from Royal Roads University in Canada. Her professional background includes extensive experience in human resources management and organizational development across nationally and internationally recognized companies. She has been involved in consulting projects and research presentations throughout the Americas and Europe.

  • Diana Dávila-Ruiz, Universidad Anáhuac México Norte

    Dr. Diana Dávila is a researcher whose work focuses on brands, women managers, corporate branding, and experiential marketing. She earned her PhD from Grenoble École de Management in France. Throughout her career, she has worked for major multinational consumer goods companies, including Procter & Gamble, Unilever, and Johnson & Johnson. She also gained extensive B2B experience as Head of Marketing and Public Relations for Latin America and the Caribbean at Steelcase. As a consultant, she has advised organizations across multiple sectors and served on corporate and non-profit boards.

  • karla cuilty esquivel, IPADE Business School

    Karla Cuilty-Esquivel is a researcher at the IPADE’s Centro de Investigación de la Mujer en la Alta Dirección (Research Center on Women in Senior Management— CIMAD). She has edited books and research reports on women on boards, complementary leadership, and women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. She is currently a PhD candidate in Entrepreneurial Science and holds a postgraduate credential in Data Science and Machine Learning from the University of Texas at Austin. She also earned a master’s degree from El Colegio de México and a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Her professional experience spans government, consulting, and educational institutions.
